The CAPA-BC Special Needs Program Fundraiser

Max Han & Albert Li

By Max Han & Albert Li

Thank you to everyone who came to our fundraiser at Red Pepper Szechuan Bistro in Towson on December 10th 2023. With the support of dozens of volunteers and over 100 participants, we were able to raise over $1,800 for our Special Needs Program.

The charity concert kicked off with a piano performance of Debussy’s “Clair de Lune” by Brianna Minton of Bryn Mawr, followed by “Cello Suite No.1 in G Major: Prelude” from Ben Feng, “Colors of the Wind” from Pocahontas performed by Amber Woytowitz, and “Elegy” by Yiruma from Eric Sun. Later, we heard Derick Su’s rendition of Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect,” the “Chariots of Fire” theme from Andrew Guan on the clarinet, and a duo performance of Beetlejuice’s “Say My Name” from Elena Dong and Crystal Wang. We rocked out to “Jingle Bell Rock” with CAPA-BC’s band, before “Bidding Farewell” with Jessica Wei, who also performed “Piranha Plants on Parade.” Finally, everyone came together to sing “Jingle Bells” to close out a spectacular night. Please see the link below for the program:

We thank everyone who came to support the cause, and a heartfelt thanks to those dedicated their time and energy to make this event a memorable success. Special thanks go to five student volunteers who organized this event: Max Han from St. Paul School’24, Albert Li from Towson High School’25, Jonathan Yin from Gilman School’26, Eric Sun from Gilman School’27 and Andrew Guan from Ridgely Middle School’ 28.  Your contributions are invaluable, and we eagerly anticipate hosting more events in the future.
